Founder Ven. Omalpe Sobhita Thero lives with the firm conviction that the monk's role is to serve for the happiness and well-being of all beings. Well aware that without life's basic needs, there can be no room for spiritual growth, he strives tirelessly to uplift the living standards of the rural poor while, at the same time, sharing his deep knowledge of the Dhamma with all.

The Sri Bodhiraja Foundation is a non-profit Buddhist charity organization founded in 1993 by Ven Omalpe Sobhita Thero. It is based in Embilipitiya, a remote village in the south of Sri Lanka. Besides bhikkhu training and religious services, the Foundation is engaged in a range of activities from education, social welfare to rural development.

The Annual Variety Entertainment of the Bodhiraja International Pre-school will be held at the D. A. Memorial Hall, Embilipitiya on the 28th of November at 9.00 am.
The chief guest will be Mrs. Dilini Dharmadasa, Rathnapura District Commissioner of the Probation & Child. This event will be held under the guidance of Ven Dr. Omalpe Sobhita Thero.

CATTLE RELEASE PROGRAMME - 2015.11.19
Ceremonial cattle release programme conducted by Sri Bodhiraja Foundation of Embilipitiya was held in Dairy Farmers Society premises of Veeravila, Senapura on the 19th November. In the ceremony 105 cows were saved from slaughter and donate to 105 families.
Contribution for the worthy event is made by the Taiwanese devotees and well-wishers with the guidance of Most Venerable Master Hai Tao Nayaka Thero in Taipai.
